14th Founder’s Day, March 2008
We commemorated our Founder’s Day by holding an Interactive Session at Delhi Gymkhana Club on 7th March, 2008. This session was attended by over 100 participants. Smt. Nirmala M. Narula, Mr. S.N. Kuckreja, Dr. Manjari Tripathi and Dr. K.S. Anand participated in the discussion. Mr. M.M. Sabharwal closed the proceedings with his speech.
Old Age Home Visits
ARDSI – Delhi Chapter teams of volunteers visited 22 Old Age Homes of Delhi and National Capital Region under Alzheimer’s Awareness and Training of Caregivers in Old Age Homes in collaboration with HelpAge India. The teams met with success and were able to address about 700 participants.

Release of a Film on Alzheimer’s Disease: September 2007
A film named “Saanjh Ki Parchhaian” on Alzheimer’s Disease, directed by Mr. Shahid Jamal and produced by ARDSI – Delhi Chapter was released on the World Alzheimer’s Day by Dr. Arbind Prasad.
TV Coverage
TV Channels IBN7 and NDTV Metro recorded and televised programmes on Alzheimer’s disease. Both these programmes were received very well by the viewers.
Award & Recognition
ARDSI has been chosen for this year’s National Award “Vayoshreshtha Sammann” in knowledge disseminating category. The award was presented by Smt. Meira Kumar, Hon’ble Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, at New Delhi. The award was given in recognition to the services of ARDSI for exemplary contribution to the country in the field of elderly.
Our President Smt. Nirmala M. Narula was conferred with “Rashtriya Bhushan Sammann” in recognition for her services to the mankind through various deserving causes, bringing relief and comfort to the neglected and deprived in our Society both at National and International level.
Day Care Centre
ARDSI – Delhi Chapter is in the process of opening a Day Care Centre for the Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) patients. AD patients will be brought in the morning to the Centre to participate in various activities and will be sent home in the evening. This will also provide respite to their families and caregivers at home from caregiving duties. |
